This is a lovely detached cottage situated in the heart of the beautiful Yorkshire Dales, in the picturesque village of Gayle, near
Hawes. The scenery it stands in contains the very best the Dales can offer, rivers, meadows, fells, in all magnificent walking and car touring countryside, set against the backcloth of the stunning Pennine
Hills. Indeed the famous Pennine Way footpath passes within 100 yards of the cottage itself.
"Watersdale End" occupies a unrivalled position amongst this scenery.
It is situated on the banks of the Duerley beck, a tumbling mountain river, just below the point where it cascades through a series of waterfalls, the cottage built 20 feet above the river bed, is therefore sufficiently elevated to offer the finest views of these stepped
falls. The bank on the opposite side of the river dips to allow the cottage the most superb views down the valley of
Wensleydale. With most of the rooms having double aspect windows the cottage is not only light and airy but offers wonderful views both of the Dales and
waterfalls. A terrace runs the complete length of the cottage with high sturdy railings, so that even the youngest toddler can play in absolute safety. The terrace faces the sun from dawn to early afternoon given a fair day, it is ideal for sitting on with the morning paper, and even taking breakfast and lunch
on. Table and chairs are provided.
