Cubble Head - Burtersett
Burtersett is a character small Dales village situated just over a mile from the market town and tourist
centre of Hawes, deep in the heart of beautiful Upper Wensleydale. It lies on a quiet by-road with little through traffic - the road continues to Lake Semerwater (2miles away) where you can sail or
canoe. There are walks in every direction from the village. The stroll to Hawes, through walled meadows and pastures in which sheep and cows peacefully graze, is an absolute delight, with a panorama of breathtaking scenery to enjoy as you walk
along. Awes has a good range of shops and services, a choice of tea rooms, pubs and restaurants all serving excellent food, and several interesting visitor attractions, including a working ropemakers, the superb Dales Countryside Museum, and the Wensleydale Cheese Visitor Centre. A must for a visit are the
town's weekly street market and its Auction Mart, both held on a Tuesday. Do not blink too deliberately at the Mart - a pen of sheep might be knocked down to you.
Hawes is centrally located for visiting all the Yorkshire Dales, the Lake District and the North Yorkshire
Moors all within day trip driving range and wonderful scenery all the way. Or on hand are lovely walks,
along quiet river banks and across meadows or for the more adventurous by following the Pennine Way.

Cubble Head is an outstanding Grade II listed detached farmhouse situated in a quiet location on the edge of Burtersett, and would suit those looking for a peaceful relaxing holiday in beautiful
surroundings. There are wonderful views from every window, it is beautifully furnished and decorated to a very high standard; beamed ceilings, wood flooring and with a selection of paintings on most of the
walls. It is very well equipped, the cottage makes for an ideal base to enjoy a country holiday in this lovely part of
England. A welcoming open fire in the lounge, central heating/hot water system with radiators in every room, makes for a warm and cosy cottage, a treat to return to after a day out in the
Dales. There is a garden and patio area with table and chairs, plus a large paddock, which would provide a safe play area for
children. All the facilities therefore to spend those lazy, relaxing days around the cottage.
DOWNSTAIRS: Spacious Dining Kitchen with electric cooker, glass hob, fridge, freezer, microwave, washer dryer, dishwasher, breakfast table and chairs. Inviting Lounge with open fire in an attractive stone fireplace, beamed ceiling, colour TV,DVD player, music centre, comfortable settees and easy
chairs. Dining Room with electric log stove housed in an alcove, dining table and
chairs. Front Hallway with plenty of room for debooting and hanging outdoor coats. An attractive bathroom with bath, shower over the bath, washbasin and toilet.
UPSTAIRS: 4 Attractive Bedrooms, there are 2 single rooms, a double room with a colour TV and a room with 2 single beds which can be arranged into a
super king bed (bedding for this room is provided), and a colour TV. All rooms have wardrobes and
drawers. Shower Room with a walk in shower, washbasin and toilet. There are lovely views over the surrounding countryside from most of the windows upstairs especially the two main bedrooms.
Oil central heating/hot water system with radiators in every room. Open fire in the lounge, please order coal in
advance. All heating/hot water/electricity included in the rent. WI FI available in the cottage. Ample bedding
but please bring your own sheets, pillowcases, towels and tea towels - linen hire service is
available. A cot and
high chair are available for hire. South facing flagged area with table and chairs attracting the sun all
well behaved pet allowed. Ample secure parking within the grounds. Sorry - but there is absolutely no smoking allowed
in the cottage.
